Calacatta Sandblasted Marble Pavers bring the ultimate luxury stone aesthetic into an outdoor, high-traffic environment. Traditionally, Calacatta marble is seen inside high-end homes with a polished finish—which is far too slippery for outdoor use.

By applying a sandblasted finish, the stone is blasted with high-velocity sand particles, creating a finely textured, matte surface. This process provides the critical slip resistance required for outdoor areas while subtly softening the bold, dramatic grey-and-gold veining characteristic of Calacatta marble.

 

Technical Specifications & Performance

The 30mm thickness is the gold standard for external stone paving, providing structural durability that 12mm tiles cannot match.

• Application Versatility: At 30mm thick, these pavers can be laid on a flexible sand base for pedestrian pathways or wet-bedded on a reinforced concrete slab for high-end patios, alfresco areas, and pool surrounds.

• Pool Safety (Slip Resistance): The sandblasting process lifts the slip rating significantly (typically achieving a P4 or P5 pendulum rating), making it perfectly safe for wet bare feet around pool copings.

• Thermal Performance: Unlike dark granite or bluestone, which absorb intense solar radiation and become scorchingly hot, Calacatta marble’s light white-and-grey base reflects heat effectively, staying comfortably cool underfoot in peak summer.

Installation & Care Rules

Important Sub-base Warning: Marble is a translucent stone. If you install 30mm marble pavers using a dark grey mortar bed, the dark shadow of the cement can bleed upward, dulling the bright white finish of the marble. Always use a white stone adhesive or white cement screed.

• Sealing is Non-Negotiable: Because marble is a metamorphic limestone composed of calcium carbonate, it is vulnerable to acid etching (from citrus, wine, or acidic pool chemicals) and organic staining (from leaves or bird droppings). Treat the pavers immediately after installation with a premium sealer , solvent based , oil, water -repellent penetrating sealer.

• Daily Maintenance: Never use acidic or harsh chemical cleaners. To clean sandblasted marble, sweep regularly to prevent leaf stains and use a pressure washer on a low-to-medium setting with a pH-neutral stone cleaner.
